As college campuses witness alarming rates of anxiety and depression, the need for innovative and effective intervention strategies has never been more urgent.

The omnipresence of digital technology in their lives exacerbates feelings of insecurity and anxiety, creating a landscape where traditional mental health interventions often fall short. Our research is driven by the necessity to develop comprehensive approaches that not only address these challenges but also integrate spiritual and neuromodulatory techniques to enhance emotional and cognitive well-being
Under the direction of Dr. Leighton, our lab utilizes advanced quantitative EEG (QEEG) and standardized low-resolution brain electromagnetic tomography (swLORETA) technologies. These tools are essential for identifying neurophysiological markers and evaluating the effects of spiritual practices on brainwave self-regulation. Our research focuses on how these practices can help individuals better manage anxiety and potentially improve academic performance.
